Biography

Brazilian television and film actor, voice actor (dubber) and director of telenovelas (soap operas). In 1964, he joined TV Tupi and participated in numerous teleplays. Then he was hired by TV Globo, where he remains today.

He has been married to actress Bete Mendes (1970-1975), physical education teacher Maria Tereza Schimidt (1976) and actresses Christiane Torloni (1977-1980), Monique Alves (1981-1982), Tássia Camargo (1983-1985), Ângela Figueiredo (1985-1987) and Deborah Evelyn (1988-2012).

He has two daughters, Tania (with Monique) and Luíza (with Deborah), and identical twin sons, Guilherme and Leonardo, with Christiane. Guilherme died in a car accident at their home in 1991 at age 12. Leonardo became an actor.
