Source Notes

Sy Scholfield quotes "Hobnobbing in Hollywood With GRACE KINGSLEY," Los Angeles Times, 18 Sept 1933, p. A8: "Beatrice wanted to give Harvey [Stephens] a birthday party, but he was puzzled over his birthday. He was born at 12 midnight--or else a moment later, either the 22nd or 23rd of August, nobody will ever know quite which, as the doctor officiating had no stop watch." The California Death Index gives his place and date of birth as "California 22 Aug 1901."
