Biography
French muse of the composer Claude Debussy who dedicated several piano works to her including three Images in 1894. Yvonne Lerolle was one of two daughters of painter Henry Lerolle; her sister was Christine. Henry Lerolle, his wife and his two daughters posed for several painters, including Edgar Degas, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Maurice Denis, and Albert Besnard.
Yvonne Lerolle married politician Eugène Rouart on 24 December 1898. She was a friend of Julie Manet, daughter of the painter Berthe Morisot, and wife of her brother-in-law Ernest Rouart. Her husband died on 6 July 1936. She died on 30 May 1944 in Saint-Geniez-d'Olt, Aveyron, aged 67.
