Biography
French academic and writer, the sister of Marie-France Pisier.
A feminist activist committed to left-wing poltics, in 1964 she went to Cuba, siding with Fidel Castro. She married Bernard Kouchner with whom she had three children. While continuing her campaigning, she completed a doctorate in public law at the University of Paris-II in 1970. An Associate of Public Law and Political Science, she became a teacher at the IEP in Paris and at the University of Paris-I as professor emeritus. She married the political scientist Olivier Duhamel, and together they adopted two Chilean children.
In 1989, she was appointed director of 'Service du Livre et de la Lecture' in the Ministry of Culture.
