Biography

Italian neurologist, intellectual, painter, and pianist, who composed many songs, some of which met with success. His essays include Il genio di Verdi visto da un biologo (Verdi's genius seen by a biologist, 1941) and Dante passionale e la musica (Passionate dances and music, 1961). At the age of 90 he participated in the San Remo Song Festival. He died in Parma on 3 February 1969, aged 92.
