Biography
Egyptian politician and military man, who, on 23 July 1952 led the coup that forced King Farouk to abdicate the throne, making him a towering hero to the Egyptians. In 1956, he became President of Egypt.
He was President of the United Arab Republic from 1958 to his death on 28 September 1970, Cairo, Egypt.
