Biography
American statistician known for his work on multiple comparison and jackknife resampling. His books include Biostatistics casebook (1980), Survival analysis (1981), Simultaneous Statistical Inference (1981) and Beyond ANOVA: basics of applied statistics (1997).
Miller's wife was Barbara J. Bonesteele Miller, an education analyst and a Stanford University alumna. In 1983, Miller was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma and died three years later on 15 March 1986 at Stanford, California. He was 53.
