Biography
French pop singer and occasional actress well known in France, Switzerland, Canada and Belgium for a number of hit singles released in the 1980s. Her first success was "Toute première fois" in 1984, which sold more than 900,000 copies. This song was simultaneously released in the United Kingdom in English. Two of her singles charted at number one in France: "Johnny, Johnny" and "En rouge et noir" in 1985 and 1986, respectively. Her 1980s albums are good examples of the Euro disco electropop style popular in Continental Europe at the time, featuring synthesizers and very catchy melodies.
Mas has been vegetarian for more than twenty years, and has become a vegan. In February 2016, Mas published the book Ma vie est une pomme ("My life is an apple") which advocates the lifestyle. In 2022, she released a book Génération Vegan.
In 2005, she moved to Los Angeles, California, and later to Phoenix, Arizona. Known in the USA as "La Blonde", she released an album The missing flowers (2006) including the hit "On a summer day". A new chapter commenced with this new album and a new look. Blond hair and feminine. In 2007 the album was released in Europe. In 2024 she toured France to celebrate her 40th birthday in career. Her tour begins in Frebruary at Paris Casino.
Jeanne Mas has a daughter Victoria Mas, a novelist and journalist, born in 1987, and a son Christopher Mas, a sound engineer in the cinema industry, born in 1992.
