Biography
German meteorologist, glaciologist and polar explorer who founded the first meteorological institute in Australia at the University of Melbourne after emigrating from Germany in 1939. On 27 March 1974 on the way home from the Institute Fritz Loewe suffered a heart attack and died a little later in hospital.
