Biography
French neurologist, son of the neurologist Jean Lhermitte.
He was professor of neurology and neuropsychiatry at the Paris Faculty of Medicine from 1962 to 1990 and professor emeritus at the University of Paris VI in 1990. He was Director of Research at the 'Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale' (INSERM, English: French Institute of Health and Medical Research) from 1968 to 1983. In 1969, with Dr. Jean Roux-Delimal, he created the first French association for research on Multiple Sclerosis.
He died on 24 July 1998.
