Biography
Mexican doctor and poet. He was the doctor of President Lazaro Cardenas (also Michoacan), who was secretary Ruben's brother, Agustin Leñero. He was director of the Civil Hospital of Morelia Miguel Silva in 1930. His eagerness to regulate the production, transportation, storage and sale of milk did face the leader of the dairy of Mexico, Fidel Velazquez. In 1935 he became head of Medical Services of the Federal District. In that position he reorganized the Central Station. In 1938 he became director of the Juarez Hospital, where he began to suppress corrupt practices, but their enemies succeeded his dismissal. In 1940, he was one of the doctors who care for Trotsky (with Dr. Patiño Mass), when he suffered the attack that took his life. On that occasion the journalist Raul Tellez helped to make the famous story about the death of Trotsky. For this, the reporter posing as sick, to enter the Relief Since in an ambulance, and that Dr. Ruben Leñero doctor provided him clothes. In 1941 he saved from a malarial fever General Lazaro Cardenas. In 1942, at 39 years old, he died heroically, to serve as a homeless man infected with typhus and other doctors refused to attend.
