Georg Hillmar (German team at parallel bars, 1896 Summer Olympics, Athens)

Biography

German gymnast who competed at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens, winning two gold medals in both team events, the parallel bars and the horizontal bar. He had less success in the individual events, contesting the parallel bars, horizontal bar, vault, and pommel horse without earning any medals. He died on 12 December 1911 at age 35 in Berlin.
