Biography
Belgian physicist and conjurer, noted for his extraordinary skills and performances that could last from two to three hours.
A disciple of noted magician Louis "Papa" Courtois, he married his daughter Julie Courtois. The husband and wife team then co-founded the Théâtre Grandsart-Courtois, which travelled across Europe.
He died in Gand on 30 June 1882, aged 68.
