Biography

American full-time pro astrologer, consulting and teaching from the early '60s. Beginning her studies in 1958 in Caracas, Venezuela, Monica became a certified Gestalt therapist and holds astrological certification from NCGR Level IV, AFA and ISAR. She lived in Venezuela for 30 years and works internationally consulting, teaching and lecturing in three languages. She opened a school for astrological studies in Caracas in September 1980. Returning to the US on 9/08/1988, Monica served on the NCGR Board, works as an AFAN Regional Coordinator and is active in local and international groups. Currently residing in Watertown, MA, she is an active member of the Boston astrological community.

Monica is the second of eight children born on a Wisconsin dairy farm where she lived until a move to Minnesota for college in 1952. She completed nursing studies at St. Mary's in Rochester, MN in 1955. Graduate studies at New York University followed in 1956. She taught clinical nursing at The Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City, 1957 - 58. In 1980 she completed studies to become a certified Gestalt therapist.

She married a French physician on 6 August 1958 and they moved to Caracas Venezuela. She accidentally discovered astrology while reading books in French. It was like finding the missing link! All of the dissatisfaction with graduate studies in psychology was relieved when astrology provided a key to understanding human behavior. After study with French Tutors, formal professional work began in 1961 and her ongoing professional work continues to date, August 2002.

Monica has three children, a boy born on 7 December 1959, another boy born on 12 August 1964, and a girl born on 5 May 1966. The marriage ended in 1974 after a separation in 1970. Monica met Michael Dimino in Caracas in November 1970. They married in June 1974 and have one son, born on 20 January 1975.

Monica enjoyed unusually good health in childhood. In April 1962 she had surgery for a ruptured Graafian follicle on the right ovary. In March 1983 she suffered from an undiagnosed burning pain in the right leg which left the extremity numb when the pain subsided in June 1983. High cholesterol surfaced and high blood pressure required medication in 1995. Bad gums required multiple surgical interventions from 1970 onward. Major mouth reconstruction with numerous dental implants was completed in 1992.

There are no retirement plans for the immediate future. Writing is on the agenda and professional work will continue until necessary faculties fail.

She passed away on 18 May 2024, shortly before her 90th birthday.
