Biography
French Radical-Socialist Party politician and minister.
Delbos was one of the leaders of the Radical Party and a journalist. In October-November 1925 he served as minister of education for the first time in his career. From 1936 to 1938, during the period of the Popular Front, he served as minister of justice and then as minister of foreign affairs, and from 1939 to 1940 he was minister of education. In 1943 during the occupation of France by fascist Germany (1940-44), Delbos was deported to Germany, returning to France in 1945. From 1948 to 1950 he was again minister of education.
He died 15 November 1956.
