Biography
Peruvian historian and university professor. He has been known for his pioneering contributions to the subject of the history of medicine and public health in Peru. He has held teaching at several universities: Associate Professor at Columbia University (1991); Visiting Professor of the first cycle in the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (1993); assistant professor of the course of history of public health in the Department of Public Health at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (1994-1998), and since 1999 a senior lecturer in the School of Public Health and Administration thereof; visiting professor at New York University (2001). He is also head of the Department of Health and Social Sciences, School of Public Health and Administration of the University Cayetano Heredia and director of the Institute of Peruvian Studies (IEP), through which encouraged the continued publication of research on various issues with the history of Peru. His research has been directed in the field of medical history, conducting research in various repositories and archives in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, Buenos Aires, Brazil, Venezuela and Japan, which the grants made by, among Rockefeller them.
