Biography

American singer-songwriter-guitarist with Waxahatchee, an indie music project she formed in 2010. The band is named after Waxahatchee Creek, in Alabama.

While still a member of P.S. Eliot, a band formed with her twin sister Allison, Crutchfield released her first music as Waxahatchee as a split cassette with Chris Clavin on Plan-It-X Records. Her bedroom-recorded debut album, American Weekend, was released on Don Giovanni Records in 2012.

A second album, Cerulean Salt, was released in March 2013 on Don Giovanni Records and four months later on Wichita Recordings in the UK. The album reached #1 on the Official Record Store Chart for the week of 13 July 2013 and received high praise from critics including a score of 8.4 from Pitchfork.

Crutchfield signed to Merge Records for North America and a third album, Ivy Tripp, was released in April 2015.
