Biography
American ecclesiastic, ordained a Roman Catholic priest in Rome on 17 July 1960. Following ordination, he was assistant pastor at two Milwaukee parishes, and a professor at St. Francis Major Seminary for two years. He was named Chaplain to Pope Paul VI with the title of Monsignor in April 1976. From 1969-80, Bishop Bruskewitz was an official of the Vatican Congregation of Catholic Education. After returning from Rome, he was named pastor of St. Bernard Parish in a suburb of Milwaukee. On 24 March 1992, Pope John Paul II appointed him the 8th Bishop of Lincoln. He was consecrated and installed as Bishop of Lincoln on 13 May 1992.
