Biography

American ecclesiastic who decided to become a priest at age 12 and entered minor seminary at 14. He made his final decision at 24 and was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on 1 May 1963 for the Diocese of Monterey-Fresno, CA. In addition to parish ministry, he worked in administration and education and remembers happily his 26 years in the priesthood.

He was appointed, ordained and installed as the Sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Boise, Idaho on 3 April 1998.
