Biography
Italian volleyball champion, winner of a Bronze Medal at the Atlanta Olympics with the Italian Men's Team, on 4 August 1996.
His first professional season was in 1984 and made his debut in the international team in 1989. Besides his medal at the Olympics, Bernardi has placed in a World Cup, World Championship, the Goodwill Games and the European Championship in Germany in 1991.
From 1994, he has played some 120 times for the Italian international team.
In 1996, he helped the Italian team win the Olympic Silver medal.
In 2001, he was voted "Volleyball Player of the Century".
He took on coaching a Polish team in 2010.
