Biography

Spanish scholar, appointed director of the Menéndez Pelayo Library of Santander in 1915 and of the National Library in 1930. He was also a member of the Royal Spanish Academy.

His publications include Don Luis de Góngora y Argote (Madrid, Tip. de la Revista de Archivos, 1925), Menéndez y Pelayo (1927), La vida y la obra de Menéndez y Pelayo (1939), and Epistolario de Valera y Menéndez Pelayo. 1877-1905 (Con Pedro Sainz Rodríguez. Madrid, Espasa Calpe, 1946).

He died in Madrid on 10 March 1947.
