Biography
Biscay Basque writer, considered along with Juan Antonio Mogel as the father of literature in Vizcaya dialect. He was ordained a Franciscan priest in 1772 and in 1790 asked to be transferred to the convent of the Missionaries of Zarauz. As a missionary he had the opportunity to meet the different dialects of Basque continental or Hegoalde, seized opportunity to write especially in Biscay but also in Gipuzkoa and Navarre. The critics consider his prose as clear and easy to follow.
He died in 1830
