Biography
Infante of Spain, as the second son of Infante Juan of Spain, Count of Montizón and Archduchess Maria Beatrix of Austria-Este. He became the Carlist claimant to the throne of Spain under the name Alfonso Carlos I (also known as Alfonso XII) and the Legitimist claimant to the throne of France under the name Charles XII.
On 26 April 1871, at Kleinheubach in Bavaria, Alfonso Carlos married Infanta Maria das Neves of Portugal, a daughter of King Miguel of Portugal and Princess Adelaide of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. They had no children.
He died on 29 September 1936 in Vienna aged 87.

Translation: The infant John and Archduchess Maria Beatriz remained in London where, at half past five in the morning of 12 September 1849, the Archduchess gave birth to a boy, whom they named Alfonso Carlos Fernando Juan y José, later known as Alfonso Carlos de Borbon y Austria-Este.
