Venus conjunct Jupiter is the current quality of time
According to most astrological sources, Venus is often called the “Lesser Benefic.” This label is usually taken to mean two things: first, that the energies of Venus are uniformly positive and creative; second, that because Venus is one of two planets (the other being Jupiter) called “benefic,” those energies are uniformly “good.” Neither assumption is correct. There is no planet whose energies always operate for good, or for bad, for that matter. It is possible to abuse and distort the energies of every planet, just as it is possible to make even the most “malefic” (the opposite of benefic) work positively and creatively.
Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system. If you subtract the Sun’s mass from the mass of the entire solar system, Jupiter makes up most of what remains. This physically dominant presence of Jupiter was recognized by the ancients because of its brightness, combined with the fact that it is the second slowest-moving of the seven traditional planets, after Saturn. Whether the ancients understood that this was somehow connected to Jupiter’s mass is not clear. However, in medieval terminology Jupiter was referred to as the second most ponderous planet after Saturn, and in Latin the word translated as “ponderous” means both slow and heavy. So the combination of its relatively slow orbital movement with its brightness gave the planet Jupiter, very early in the evolution of astrology, the title “King of the planets,” just as the god Jupiter (also known in Greek as Zeus, and in Babylonian as Marduk) was king of the gods.

The quality of time of this moment will unfold as the object of the contract develops.

June 3-4: Mercury square Neptune
Confusing communication & dreamy thinking
Perfect for art, meditation & inner reflection.
Mercury square Neptune is the current quality of time
Mercury is both highly important and quite peculiar in traditional astrology. Mercury’s energies describe how anything that transmits or receives information communicates, including all living beings. But that is not the peculiar part. Mercury is also the only one of the traditional planets that can be either masculine or feminine, diurnal or nocturnal, or malefic or benefic. The last two terms require some explanation. Strictly speaking, there are no factors that are inherently malefic or benefic. What makes any factor in astrology seem “benefic” or “malefic” is the way, and the extent to which, we learn to handle the energies involved, especially those of the planets. It is our consciousness, or lack thereof, that determines whether any astrological factor works well or poorly for us. However, Mercury is peculiar in that it has no inherent tendency one way or the other.
Neptune is the second of the modern planets to be discovered. Like all the planets found since the 18th century - Uranus, Pluto and a host of other bodies that orbit the Sun, such as dwarf planets, comets and Kuiper Belt objects - Neptune is invisible to the naked eye; a telescope is required to see it. As with Uranus, this invisibility suggests that Neptune represents energies that linger on the fringes of ordinary awareness and social reality, seeming disruptive to normal consciousness. Consequently, Neptune, even more than Uranus in my view, has earned a difficult reputation. Whereas Uranus is considered disruptive, unpredictable, radical and unstable, Neptune’s influence does not burst onto the scene. Instead, it seeps into awareness, at first unnoticed, until it overwhelms consciousness and leaves one adrift in a curious chaos where nothing quite makes sense or can be clearly defined.

FULL MOON
IN SAGITTARIUS
Toward the end of the month, the newly won freedoms may have to be defended.
What has been gained in recent days could now be called into question, whether by someone else or by inner counterforces. Face such questions honestly and without defiance, because that allows you to clarify your attitude. Stand by your values, be willing to engage in dialogue, but firmly reject any external claims of power over your life. The positive, communicative energy of the Sagittarius Full Moon offers the best conditions for amicable solutions.

How do you relate?
The Horoscope for Two gives valuable insights into all kinds of relationships between two people, whether they are family members, work colleagues, friends or competitors. Of course it also works very well for a love relationship. It is less suitable for a parent-child relationship.
This horoscope reading is based on the Davison Relationship Chart, known as the Combine Horoscope in Europe. The interpretations are compact, clear and impressively accurate. You will be surprised. Even for a pair of twins the interpretation is sophisticaded and illuminating.
Topics dealt with in the different chapters:
- Role assignment
- Core issue the relationship revolves around
- Characteristics of this relationship
- Mental and emotional levels of interaction

May 29: Venus square Saturn

Venus square Saturn is the current quality of time
Traditionally, in ancient, medieval and even modern astrology Saturn has been regarded as one of the most difficult planets, and by ‘difficult’ most of these astrologers meant ‘bad’ or ‘negative’, a gratuitous cause of pain or suffering for no good reason. More recently there has been a trend in astrology to redeem Saturn and to see it as a more positive energy in the chart even if not necessarily easy. However, while the modern redemption of Saturn is a distinct improvement over older attitudes, there is a higher and more positive side to the planet that is not at all mentioned in twentieth-century astrology. And it is interesting to note that this “new” side of Saturn is to be found in ancient philosophical literature and in medieval Arabic astrological literature.

About the Author’s Perspective
"Transits of the Year" is based on the movements of the actual planets in the sky over the different positions in your natal chart. Robert Hand describes how these transits influence you personally and which themes and topics will be most important for you during any given year. Knowing about your transits can help you to cope better with crises and difficulties and to make the best of the opportunities coming your way.
What will the next year bring?
What would be most appropriate in your life just now? What will the next year bring? Have you ever felt that life is following its own schedule - sometimes you have to struggle with enormous problems; at other times everything seems to work out fine all by itself. Sometimes one big crisis follows another. And then again, there are times when good fortune literally seems to beam on one. What lies behind this changeability of fate? "Transits of the Year" sheds light upon this mysterious quality of the times.
May 26: Mars square Pluto
Intense power dynamics
Stand your ground without forcing control.
Mars square Pluto is the current quality of time
It is traditional to regard Mars as the “Lesser Malefic.” While the transits of Mars are frequently difficult, this designation is inappropriate; it is far more indicative of the level of ego at which many people operate than of the intrinsic nature of Mars’s energy itself. It is called the “Lesser Malefic” because Saturn has the dubious distinction of being the “Greater Malefic.” The same comments that I have just made about Mars apply to Saturn as well.
Pluto’s energies operate slowly and relentlessly, producing profound transformation. A fitting metaphor is the movement of tectonic plates across Earth’s surface. Not until the twentieth century did we realize that continental drift causes earthquakes and volcanoes. Historically, Pluto signifies long-term economic and social forces that work independently of conscious human intent, though our unconscious may channel them.
