In horary and traditional astrology a weakly placed planet is in a state of debility.

This can happen when a planet is in the sign of its detriment, fall, conjunct Saturn or Mars, retrograde or is otherwise lacking in any essential dignity. For example, in a horary chart in which the person asking the question is signified by a debilitated planet, the astrologer might judge that the outcome will go against the individual.

However, debilities are seldom considered in modern astrologers' interpretations of birth charts.
