Biography

American basketball forward who played professionally in the National Basketball League (NBL) with the Indianapolis Kautskys (1938-1942, 1946) and the Oshkosh All-Stars (1942–1943).

He was the league Rookie of the Year in 1938-1939 and was an NBL All-Star in 1938-1939 and in 1941-1942. He later became a high school coach for 17 years for Southport High School in Indianapolis.

Young was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964.

He died on 16 April 2003, aged 90, in Bradenton, Florida.
