Biography
Chinese-British actor who broke cultural barriers to become the first ethnic lead in a major TV series, "The Chinese Detective," 1981-82. He filmed four documentaries about the Chinese community in Liverpool where he was raised. In U.S. films, he appeared in a Bond movie, "A View to a Kill," 1985 and in Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and "Empire of the Sun," 1987.
