Biography
French diplomat, who was a major player in the relations between France and Francophone Africa during the mid-1980s.
A member of the Resistance during World War II, he became an official of the Ministry of the Interior after the Liberation.
He held various positions in Africa, first as Director General of the Office du Niger (1956-1960), then as ambassador in Bamako (1961-1964), N'Djamena (1968-1974) and Dakar (1977-1983).
He was also High Commissioner to New Caledonia (1986-1987).
He died on 17 December 2013.
