Biography

French philosopher and medievalist specializing in the history of medieval philosophy, and trade unionist, known for his part in the secularisation of the French Confederation of Christian Workers (French: Confédération française des travailleurs chrétiens; CFTC), one of the five major French confederations of trade unions, belonging to the social Christian tradition.

His books include Justification et prédestination au xive siècle. Duns Scotus, Pierre d'Auriole, Guillaume d'Occam, Grégoire de Rimini (1934), La Pensée au Moyen Âge (1938), De saint Anselme à Luther (1976) and Manuel de Irujo : ministre de la République dans la guerre d'Espagne, 1936-1939 (1986).

He died on 26 August 1987, aged 82, in Zaragoza, Spain.
