Biography
Dutch-Belgian Formula One race car driver, noted as the youngest winner of a Grand Prix, and the 2021 and 2022 Formula One World Champion.
At the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, when he was aged 17 years, 166 days, he became the youngest driver to compete in Formula One. At the age of 18, he won the Spanish Grand Prix on 15 May 2016, breaking the previous records held by German driver Sebastian Vettel, becoming the youngest-ever driver and the first Dutch driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix.
In the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, he became the first Dutch driver to win the Formula One World Championship when he overtook Lewis Hamilton on the final lap to win the race. In 2022, he won 15 Grand Prix (22 were run).
He is the son of former Formula One car driver Jos Verstappen.
