Ingerid Vardund

Biography

Norwegian actress. She had her stage debut in 1947 at the revue theatre Chat Noir, and starred in her first film five years later in Andrine og Kjell. From 1949 to 1958 Vardund worked at Centralteateret, and from 1958 to 1993 at Nationalteatret (the National Theatre). In 1971 she toured in Japan with Nationaltheatret as Nora in Ibsen's A Doll's House.

Vardund was married to actor Carsten Byhring from 1950 to 1958. She also had a relationship with pianist Kjell Bækkelund.

Vardund died on 25 December 2006, in Oslo, aged 79.
