Biography
Dutch painter and engraver who was the father of sculptor Bart van Hove.
Van Hove came from a family of painters, he learned the rudiments of the trade from his father and brother Bartholomew Huib van Hove. He continued his education at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Hague Wood Engraver School, both in The Hague. In 1875 he was appointed as a decorative painter of King William III. Hove painted particular genre scenes and cityscapes.
He died in Den Haag on 3 november 1881.
