Biography

French identical twin brothers, television presenters, producers, and scientific essayists who, from the 1970s on, presented various subjects in science fiction, popular science, and cosmology. They were involved in a number of controversies, most notably the Bogdanov affair, in which it was alleged the brothers wrote nonsensical advanced physics papers that were nonetheless published in reputable scientific journals.

Igor and Grichka were born to a Russian father and an Austrian mother. The twins spoke German, also learning French, Russian, and English. They were bred by their grand-mothern in Southern France. At thg age of 9, they met writer André Malraux thanks to Louise de Vilmorin. At 14, they passed the baccalauréat.

In 1976, they releades their first book "Keys for science-fiction" and appeared on TV for the first time.

The brothers began careers in television, hosting Temps X (Time X, 1979-1989) on private channel TF1, Rayons X (X Rays, 2002) on French public channel France 2, and in August 2004 they presented a 90-minute special cosmology program.

Grichka Bogdanoff received a Ph.D. from the University of Burgundy (Dijon) in 1999. In 2002, Igor Bogdanoff received a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Burgundy.

They wrote an essay "Dieu et la Science" with theologian Jean Guitton."La mémoire double" inspired the film "Matrix".

Married to Amélie de Bourbon Parme, Igor has six children. The Bogdanoff twins were both hospitalised in critical condition at Georges-Pompidou Hospital in Paris on 15 December 2021, after contracting COVID-19. Grichka died on 28 December, and Igor died six days later, on 3 January 2022. Trusting Didier Raoult (and his treatment?) both of them were not vaccinated.
