Biography
American politician, Virginia Senator from 1982 and three term member of the House of Representatives. Starting as a law clerk under District Judge Albert Bryan in 1971, he became Assistant U.S . Attorney for East District of Virginia 1972-74 and Commonwealth's Attorney 1974-1976.
After holding numerous other political offices and his three terms in the House, in September 1987 he declined reelection in order to spend more time with his family.
