Biography

French gynecologist, pediatrician, dentist and follower of a non-allopathic medical sexology.

He was the founder in 1974 of the French Society of Clinical Sexology and in 1978 of the World Association of Sexology over which he presided from 1981 to 1985. He mainly published books for the general public and specialized works. He frequently appeared in the media in the 1970s promoting sex education for teenagers. He applied hypnosis to the treatment of sexual disorders. In 2002, he was accused of sexually abusing some of his patients and indicted for rape. In 2003, he was imprisoned at Fresnes under house arrest for not respecting a ban on his practising medicine. He was to be tried at the Assizes Court on 28 April 2009 but died of cancer in early March that year.
