Biography
American National Basketball Association player for the Denver Nuggets (1975-1982) and Seattle SuperSonics (1982-1984), for a total of eight seasons. In his career he won many awards including Rookie of the Year in 1975 and Most Valuable Player in the 1976 All Star Game.
Thompson was known for his 44-inch vertical leap, lightning quick moves, and precision-shooting. A prolific scorer, the Denver Nuggets honoured him and his achievements when they retired his number 33 jersey on 12 November 1992.
