Biography

Bavarian princess, ethnologist, zoologist, botanist, travel writer and leader in social care. Theresa was the third child and only daughter of Luitpold, Prince Regent of Bavaria and of his wife Archduchess Augusta of Austria. Theresa never married, remaining a spinster all her life. She was considered a confident, independent woman, and one with unusual interests. She died 19 December 1925, Lindau.

November 1850, Geburt in der Münchner Residenz: «Ihre Kaiserliche Hoheit, die Frau Prinzessin Luitpold sind um halb Ein Uhr Mittag von einer Prinzeßin glücklich entbunden worden.» Mit diesem ärztlichen Bulletin aus der Münchner residenz wurde die Geburt der prinzessin Therese bekanntgegeben."

Translation: Therese, Princess of Bavaria, 12 November 1850, birth in the Munich Residence: "Her Imperial Highness, the Princess Luitpold was happily delivered of a princess at half past noon." With this medical bulletin from the Munich residence the birth of Princess Therese was announced.
