Indian journalist, author and columnist. He is best known as a satirist and columnist. Suraiya is a former editorial opinion editor and associate editor of the Times of India.
Sy Scholfield quotes time of dawn from him in "You name it" by Jug Suraiya, Times of India, 25 December 2005: "I was born as dawn was breaking, to the chanting of bhajans in the dharamshala, which was flanked on one side by a mosque and on the other by a church."
