Paula Stone (in 1945)


American actress in theatre and films. Her first motion picture paired her with William Boyd in Hopalong Cassidy (1935). Her final motion picture was Laugh It Off (1939), a musical released by Universal Pictures. Paula Stone died in Sherman Oaks, California, on December 23, 1997.

Sy Scholfield quotes a telegraph to her father Fred Stone from his brother-in-law Rex Beach on the day of her birth (20 January 1912), transcribed in "Fred Stone: Circus Performer and Musical Comedy Star" by Armond Fields (McFarland, 2002), p. 156: "'Fred A. Stone: You have a beautiful daughter born at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Baby weighed seven and one-half pounds, and doctor pronounces it a perfect child. Congratulations. Rex.' The baby was born at the Beach's apartment on West 70th Street, New York."
