Biography
Greek-hosted international multi-sport event, officially known as the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad, held in Athens from 13 to 29 August 2004 with the motto Welcome Home.
Football (soccer) matches, however, began before the official opening ceremony, on 11 August 2004, beginning with the women's football match scheduled to begin at 18:00 in Athens.
