German writer and history philosopher. In his book "The Decline of the West" (1926-1928), he noted that the key to history is the law of societies and civilizations which rise and fall in cycles, and that Western civilization was in a cycle of decay.
Spengler died on 8 May 1936 in Munich, Germany.
