Canadian-American aeronautical engineer.
He was the son of Wilfred Talbot Smith (1885–1957), an English occultist and ceremonial magician known as a prominent advocate of the religion of Thelema. At birth, Noel was proclaimed by occultist Charles Stansfeld Jones as "the Crowned and Conquering Child" prophecised in the main Thelemite holy book, "The Book of the Law."
Raised in Canada, Noel moved with his mother to Glendale, California, where he attended high school, community college and a technical institute, earning his bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering.
He married on 17 January 1943 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1955. His son died of brain cancer at age 16.
Noel Talbot Smith died in Payson, Arizona, on 12 November 2014, aged 96.
