Biography
Italian screenwriter and director of TV and film. Scola began as a journalist in a humorous magazine in 1954, entering the film world as a scriptwriter and for ten years worked in the making of numerous films. In 1989 he became a member of the Italian Communist party and in 1992 he was the chairman of the jury, XXII Giffoni Film Festival of children's films. Scola is the recipient of seven awards, including the Grand Prix of the International Film Festival in 1975, Cesar Award, Paris 1984, and the Grolla d'Oro Award in 1992.
