Biography
Belgian social worker, physician, and pioneer in public health thinking and practice, best known in the field of social work for being co-founder of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) in 1928, and serving as its president from 1946 to 1953. He died in Paris on 23 August 1953, aged 76.
