Source Notes
Castellanos shows copy of the birth certificate, which states "En el primero se lee la fecha del documento: "cuatro de julio", y en el segundo se lee "el día de ayer a las siete de la mañana nació una criatura" (the date of the document is read: "Fourth of July", and later "yesterday at seven in the morning a child was born".)
In his autobiography in his novel "Abaddon the destroyer" the character Sabato says he was born in dusk, 24 June 1911, the day of San Juan. It is assumed that this, being a novel, has a fictitious character for the purposes of literature. It can be seen as a symbolic and poetic elaboration associated with the fact that the night of June 24 is the "night of San Juan", one of the moments of the year in which the witches meet.
