Italian geologist and geographer, who published the Liguria Geologica (1939), after almost fifty years of research. He theorized geological movements as a continuous development, due to river, karst or marine erosion, as opposed to current theories of W.M. Davis on the repetition of cycles. Rovereto also applied geology to the design of railway lines in Italy and hydraulic irrigation in Argentina. He died in Genoa on 23 November 1952, aged 82.
