Sy Scholfield quotes him in "Jose Rizal: life, works, and writings" by Gregorio F. Zaide (National Book Store, 2003), p. 1: "I was born in Kalamba on the 19th of June 1861 between eleven und twelve o'clock at night, a few days before the full of the moon." Same data in "The First FIlipino" [1974] by Leon Maria Guerrero (Manila: Guerrero, 2010), p. 31: "[At] Kalamba . . . He had been born on the 19th June 1861 'between eleven and twelve o'clock at night, a few days before the full moon.' It was a difficult delivery that endangered his mother's life."
