Cista Rican painter, architect and engineer. He is considered one of the most important painters of this nation. The most important theme of his paintings was the representation of the national landscape, which earned him a place in the history of Costa Rican art. As an architect and engineer, he built many public and private works, highlighting many churches, considered of great architectural value.
He died on 27 July 1977 and in honor of his work, the Costa Rican Art Museum established in 1998 Teodorico Quirós prize.
