Norwegian poet, novelist, essayist, playwright, translator, radio personality, and literary critic.

He made his literary debut in 1945 with the poetry collection "Da senker jeg mine våpen" ('Then I'll lower my weapons'). In the 70's, working at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, he was dubbed the man with the 'most beautiful male voice in the country'. His novel "De vindskeive" ('The ones who are wind-bent') is reminiscent of his long time as a psychiatric patient.

Prytz died on 5 March 2002. He was 79.
