Biography
American pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB), nicknamed "Big Smooth," who played for the Colorado Rockies (2011–2013), Oakland Athletics (2014–2015), San Diego Padres (2016), Boston Red Sox (2016–2018), San Francisco Giants (2019), Milwaukee Brewers (2019) and San Diego Padres (2020–2021).
Pomeranz was an MLB All-Star with the Padres in 2016, and a World Series champion with the Red Sox in 2018.
His older brother Stu also played in MLB. Drew and Stu are great-grandsons of former professional football and baseball player Garland Buckeye.
Pomeranz married his longtime girlfriend, Carolyn Esserman, on 19 November 2016. Their son, Tate Pomeranz, was born on 6 February 2021.
